f. Pricing and fees
i. Wait time feesIn some locations, a per-minute wait time fee will begin 15 minutes after your driver arrives at your location. We’ll notify you that the charge has started, and it will continue until your driver begins the trip.
If your trip is canceled and you’re charged a cancellation fee, you will not be charged for wait time. Additionally, this fee may not apply at airports or certain other venues.
Wait-time fees and thresholds vary by location and product type. In certain markets, additional wait-time charges may apply to your trip depending on how busy it is. Use the fare estimator to see if additional charges exist in your city.
ii. How are fares calculated?
Fares are calculated upfront for all the rides in Hong Kong.
Your total trip fare equals to the addition of booking fee + base fare + estimated distance and time fee + toll fee and wait time fees (if any) minus - promotions
Upfront Fares are calculated based on your trip's expected time and distance and will take into consideration the predicted traffic situation and availability of driver partners at the time of the request. The fare displayed at the beginning of the trip may not hold if there's a significant change to pickup/drop-off locations, using a different tunnel, adding a stop after request or the suggested route is not followed, etc.
This explains why the fares might be different even if the requested locations of past trips are similar.
iii. Tolls, Surcharges, and Fees
Your trip fare covers more than just time and distance. Here is a breakdown of additional charges that may apply to your trip. When you accept a trip with an upfront price, the estimated costs are incorporated into your trip fare based on the predicted route. Tolls and surcharges may be adjusted in the event your actual route differs from the predicted route.
Booking Fee
The booking fee is a separate flat fee added to every trip you take. Booking Fees help support regulatory, safety, and operational costs.
Tolls and Surcharges
Additional charges may apply to your trip, such as: estimated tolls; surcharges for trips to or from airports, events, and other venues. These charges are automatically included in your trip price. Depending on the charge and location, these additional charges may be retained by your driver, paid by your driver to BoBo or BoBo-related entities, or passed through in whole or in part to a governmental agency or other third parties. Please note that such charges included in your trip price may not match the amount retained by your driver, paid to BoBo, or passed through to a third party or government agency; may not correspond to any third-party or government charge; and may relate to charges or inconveniences that occur before or after your trip.
